  • How does Troops connect to Salesforce?

    Troops integrates with Salesforce via their REST API or Streaming API. When you create the link between Troops and Salesforce, you’ll be asked to authenticate with Salesforce. We continually monitor your Salesforce API usage and call availability to ensure we’re not occupying too much of your bandwidth.

  • How many Salesforce API calls does Troops use?

    Troops uses a variety of techniques to optimize API call usage. Based on customer usage, we typically see a minimum of 3K API calls per day, an average (mean) of 18K calls per day with standard deviation of 10K calls. 

    The specific usage depends on the number of Objects in Salesforce that have workflows set up in Troops (i.e. Account, Opportunity, etc) and specifically the total number of entries across all these tracked objects (i.e. rows in Account, Opportunity etc). Additionally, because Troops monitors objects for potential changes, based on the “Last Modified” time stamp, other tools making updates to Salesforce could trigger Troops to use additional API calls. Usage of product - how often workflows fire, number of actions taken, type of workflow, advanced features, like cross object filters incur additional API calls as well.

    Yes! Customers can create simple or complex actions for users to take, whether it be clicking a button to push a date or launching a full modal in Slack/Teams to update key information.

  • Can I limit permissions in the system?

    Yes! Troops enables you to set roles for each of your users. This includes admin roles for users who can perform configuration, user management, and can create and manage signals and actions. This also includes standard users who receive signals in Slack or MS Teams and can take action on those signals.
